The Conference city Nice

Nice is France’s number two destination for international business travelers. The city is located on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, the Climate in Nice is very mild: very warm and dry in summer and with moderate rainfall in winter. The city's main seaside promenade, the Promenade des Anglais ("Walkway of the English”) owes its name to visitors of the destination. In Nice, the currency is the Euro.The popularity of the city is a result of its ease of access due to the airport with international connections, as it is the second largest city in France. Besides, Nice has, after Paris, the largest offering of hotels in France. Due to this advantage and the hotels’ closeness to the Acropolis convention and Exhibition Centre, Nice can host big business events in industry in the Acropolis Convention Centre.

The Acropolis Convention Centre has been named “Europe’s number one convention centre” for three years in a row! It has been designed by architects Buzzi, Bernasconi, and Baptiste. The opening was in the year 1984 and the Centre was inaugurated in May 1985 when the prestigious Apollo auditorium was completed. Its design was carefully chosen: gardens, fountains, and numerous works of art are on exhibit outside the building.

The Convention Centre is situated at 7 km from the Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport and at hand from the Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art, the Theatre of Nice, the Bibliothèque Régionale (Regional Library).

The Acropolis Centre is located in the centre of Nice and only 10 minutes by tram from the Promenade des Anglais and the sea (Tram frequency: every 05 minutes from 04h30 a.m. until 01h30 a.m.).

The Nice Airport is an international gateway only 15 minutes from the city centre. There are shuttle buses taking you to the city centre. The Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the second largest in France with 13, 3 million passengers travelling through each year, 111 direct-flight destinations and 61 scheduled airlines.

The SNCF (National Railway Company) provides regular connections from abroad and daily connections with the largest cities in France. The nice train station is located in the heart of Nice.

By car

Nice is connected to all the great European cities by a major motorway network. In particular, the A8 motorway, 'La Provençale', running from Aix-en-Provence to the West of the Italian border on the East. The motorway provides direct access to the Acropolis Convention Centre, exit n° 50 towards “Nice Centre“ and the “Promenade des Anglais“; then follow the sign “Acropolis“.
